Criminal Injuries Compensation

Have you been injured as a result of a criminal offence? These typically include assault but need not necessarily be only an assault. If you have been physically or mentally injured by a criminal offence you might be entitled to criminal injuries compensation. It is not essential that you even know the identity of the assailant. 

Close relatives of a victim who dies as a result of a criminal offence such as a spouse or de facto, children, grandchildren, stepchildren and various others who suffer financial loss as a result of that death can also be eligible for criminal injuries compensation.

Criminal injuries Compensation are awarded by the State of Western Australia and there is no requirement to sue the assailant.
